¡Igualmente a tí y a tu familia!
Como habíamos pasado dos semanas con mucha gente, mi mujer y yo decidimos irnos de la familia y pasar unos días tranquilos en un hotel cerca del mar. Así que anoche cenamos en un restaurante muy bueno y tomamos una copa para dar la bienvenida al Año Nuevo. Muy tranquilo, ¡pero estupendo!
Los dos somos profesores, y la trimestre nueva comenzará la semana que viene, así que nos estamos preparando para el trabajo. ¡Qué pena! También la semana que viene tengo que recomenzar mi ejercicio en el gimnasio para mi triatlón. Tengo ocho meses para ponerme en forma.
Espero que tengas suerte cuando vengas a Benidorm a correr el medio maratón. ¡No te lesiones, por favor!

He pasado la Navidad en Inglaterra con mi familia y mi familia política. Mi familia política vive en Liverpool y la mía en Londres. He recibido algunos regalos muy buenos: normalmente me compran libros, y este año no ha sido diferente. Me compraron libros de Isaac Asimov, un autor favorito.
¿Qué has recibido Nina? Estás en España, o Inglaterra? ¿Cómo fue tu estancia en La Marina? Cuándo comenzarán tus clases de Español?

No sé dónde voy a hacer el triatlón. Tengo que estar en Liverpool el 1 de agosto para una boda (una sobrina se casará - ¡que viejo soy!), y aprovecharé la estancia para hacer uno - supongo en el noroeste de Inglaterra. Tu comentario sobre el chocolate y vino me hizo reír - para mí el pecado es que me gusta tomar una cerveza. (Mi mujer tiene un imán de nevera que dice "hay dos tipos de mujer - ellas a las cuales les gusta el chocolate, ¡y brujas!).
What stage are you at with your Spanish, Nina? Have you started the subjunctive yet? And if so, where are you with it? There are not many advanced students about, so I'm interested in how you're getting on.
Good luck on Sunday, and enjoy your trip to La Marina.

Muy bien escrito. ¿Has corrido un medio maratón antes? ¡Para mí sería una pesadilla! Tengo un plan de hacer un triatlón en Inglaterra el año que viene. Nado bastante bien, y voy en bicicleta muy bien, pero ¿correr? ¡No! Eso es lo que tengo que practicar.
Bueno, una cosa pequeña: prefería es 'I was preferring'. Preferiría es 'I would prefer'. ¿Ves la diferencia? ¡Espero que no te moleste si te corrijo!
